Ossian de la Réveillère-Lépaux se compose une propriété selon ses goûts italianisants et sa passion botaniste, sur le domaine d'un ancien prieuré dont il conserve la chapelle romane transformée en dépendance agricole. Il y accole une serre à deux niveaux. La demeure principale et la ferme du domaine sont édifiées en 1855 par l'architecte Edouard Moll, assisté de Gustave Tendron.
