In Thonac, in the Dordogne region, a manor house stands beside a Gallo-Roman tower known for its striking lean. The site crowns a hilltop near the Vézère river, not far from the Lascaux cave. Beneath the manor, a network of partly collapsed underground passages begins at the cellar, while the tower, about twenty metres high, overlooks a sharp bend in the departmental road.
