To make a day of it

Manoir de Cantepie stands in Cambremer (Calvados), in the Normandie region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

Standing at the hamlet of le Cadran in Cambremer, this half timbered manor house dates from the late 16th or early 17th century. Its nine bay facade with twin doorways illustrates the rural Renaissance architecture typical of the Pays d'Auge, later extended in the 19th century in a Norman revival style. Inside, a dining room features 17th century painted beams and an early 20th century frieze based on a poem by Victor Hugo. The 19th century owner, Alfred Swann, lent his name to a character in Marcel Proust's In Search of Lost Time.
