Warxbüttel stands in Samtgemeinde Papenteich (Landkreis Gifhorn), in Lower Saxony, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Warxbüttel is a small settlement belonging to the municipality of Adenbüttel, in the Landkreis Gifhorn, Lower Saxony, standing on the site of a village first recorded at the end of the 12th century. A moated castle, or Wasserburg, once stood here, held for centuries by the von Marenholtz family, but it fell into ruin after the family moved its seat to Groß Schwülper in the early 17th century. What remains today is a working estate with a manor house, or Herrenhaus, built in 1864, now used for horse breeding and boarding. There is no castle here to visit in the usual sense, only a place shaped by a noble history that has otherwise vanished.
