Schloss Wurzen stands in Wurzen (Landkreis Leipzig), in Saxony, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Schloss Wurzen stands in the centre of the town, next to the cathedral, built on a rectangular plan with two corner towers and surrounded by a deep dry moat crossed by a medieval drawbridge. Constructed at the end of the fifteenth century as a residence for the bishops of Meissen, it preserves a remarkable set of net-vaulted ceilings, more than forty throughout the building, along with a late Gothic portal topped by a carved coat of arms. The late medieval room layout has survived almost completely, making it an unusually well preserved Gothic bishop's residence.
