To make a day of it

Schloss Wolfegg stands in Wolfegg (Landkreis Ravensburg), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Schloss Wolfegg stands near the town of Wolfegg, in the Landkreis Ravensburg, Baden-Württemberg. This Renaissance residence, ancestral seat of the Waldburg-Wolfegg family who still own it today, took its present shape under Jakob II von Waldburg and his wife Johanna at the end of the 16th century, after fire had destroyed an earlier building. Its baroque Rittersaal, fitted with twenty-four wooden sculptures and a large mirrored ceiling, ranks among the most distinctive rooms of its period in Germany. It was also in the castle's library that the only surviving copy of the Waldseemüller map, the first document to use the name America for the newly found continent, was discovered in 1901.
