Schloss Rantzau stands in Rantzau (Kreis Plön), in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.
Schloss Rantzau stands in Rantzau, in the Kreis Plön, and gave its name to the noble family who held it for more than five centuries. Originally a small fortified medieval house, it was rebuilt from 1590 onward by Heinrich Rantzau into one of the finest Renaissance residences of Schleswig-Holstein. Later alterations, including its conversion into a three-winged baroque mansion in the eighteenth century, mean that little of the original Renaissance appearance can still be traced. The building remains in private hands today and cannot be visited.
