To make a day of it

Schloss Pörnbach stands in Pörnbach (Landkreis Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Schloss Pörnbach stands in the middle of the village of Pörnbach in Bavaria. First recorded in 1558 and likely rebuilt in 1572 under Johann Georg von Schafhausen, it passed in 1662 to the Toerring counts, who carried out major alterations in the early eighteenth century even though the family had already stopped living there by the mid-1700s. The gabled residential wing, with its polygonal corner towers facing the garden, retains structural elements going back to 1614-1615. After falling into disrepair, the estate was thoroughly restored between 2003 and 2005 and is now used as a venue for events.
