Schloss Obersontheim stands in Obersontheim (Landkreis Schwäbisch Hall), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Schloss Obersontheim stands on a low hill above the village, at the crossing of the roads linking Schwäbisch Hall to Ellwangen and Gaildorf to Crailsheim. Built in the 16th century as a residence for Count Erasmus of Limpurg after he sold the ancestral Burg Limpurg, it still shows its horseshoe-shaped layout, two wings of different size, a gatehouse tower and corner towers topped with conical or hyperboloid roofs. A deep moat, partly filled in, and a stone bridge leading into the outer courtyard recall its defensive origins alongside its residential role. The building now houses a care home, so visits are largely confined to the exterior and grounds.
