Schloss Neu-Augustusburg stands in Weißenfels (Burgenlandkreis), in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Adult admission costs 6 EUR. Its opening hours and prices were verified at the source on September 25, 2026.
Overlooking the town of Weißenfels in Saxony-Anhalt, Schloss Neu-Augustusburg was home to a line of Saxe-Weissenfels dukes between 1680 and 1746. This early Baroque palace counts among central Germany's largest of its kind, and its Schlosskirche St. Trinitatis still displays painted interiors by Johann Oswald Harms, regarded as some of the finest Baroque church decoration in central Europe. A museum dating back to 1964, the Museum Weißenfels, now occupies the building and presents both the duchy's history and the town's shoemaking heritage. The castle terrace offers views out over the town.
