To make a day of it
Schloss Friedrichsthal stands in Gotha (Landkreis Gotha), in Thuringia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Schloss Friedrichsthal stands just east of Schloss Friedenstein in the center of Gotha. Built in the early 18th century for Duke Frederick II of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg, this baroque three-wing palace drew on French models of the period. Its façade went through several alterations, including the addition of side wings in the late 18th century, though the original staircase survives inside. The building is now owned by the city and houses a technical school, which strongly limits access for visitors.
