To make a day of it

Schloss Erdmannsdorf stands in Augustusburg (Landkreis Mittelsachsen), in Saxony, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

Schloss Erdmannsdorf stands on a rocky spur above the Zschopau river, in the village that bears its name, at the edge of the Ore Mountains. The present building, remodelled in Tudor Gothic style from 1843 for Hans Heinrich von Könneritz, rises on the remains of a medieval stronghold first recorded in 1191. Its cellar still holds medieval masonry, and the oldest surviving part, the so called Steinhaus, has survived despite later rebuildings as a manor and then a residence.
