The present brick building, erected from 1875 onward to designs by the Berlin architects Martin Gropius and Heino Schmieden, replaced an older timber manor house that had been pulled down in 1839 due to its poor condition. Its neo-Renaissance facade, with its alternating plaster and exposed brickwork, reflects the historicist taste of the von Jagow family, who commissioned the building. The estate remains a private residence today.
