To make a day of it

Krepe stands in Groß Schwechten (Landkreis Stendal), in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

Krepe is an archaeological site in a wooded wetland west of the Uchte river, within the municipality of Groß Schwechten in Saxony-Anhalt. The roughly 60-metre-wide mound, surrounded by a barely visible ditch, marks the buried remains of an early brick lowland fortification built around 1200 and abandoned during the 13th century. Excavations carried out in 2014 and 2015 allowed dendrochronological dating and revealed traces of a large, likely round, tower. Known locally as the Räuberberg, the site is also tied to legends of robbers and to a medieval court mentioned in old legal records.
