Schloss Bad Berleburg overlooks the town of Bad Berleburg from a hilltop where a fortress was first built in 1258 by Count Siegfried I and the Klostervogt Adolf I. Part of the building now houses a museum displaying hunting equipment, uniforms, weapons, glassware, porcelain and pieces from the princely art collection. Visitors can trace the successive layers of construction, from the medieval stronghold to the residential palace reshaped in the twentieth century.
