Schloss Berleburg stands in Bad Berleburg (Kreis Siegen-Wittgenstein), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Schloss Bad Berleburg overlooks the town of Bad Berleburg from a hilltop where a fortress was first built in 1258 by Count Siegfried I and the Klostervogt Adolf I. The Sayn-Wittgenstein family has lived there continuously for more than six hundred years, giving the residence an unusually long unbroken lineage. Part of the building now houses a museum displaying hunting equipment, uniforms, weapons, glassware, porcelain and pieces from the princely art collection. Visitors can trace the successive layers of construction, from the medieval stronghold to the residential palace reshaped in the twentieth century.
