To make a day of it

Schloss Bellevue stands in Saalburg-Ebersdorf (Saale-Orla-Kreis), in Thuringia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

The Schloss Bellevue stands between Ebersdorf and Schönbrunn, on what used to be a country road linking Schönbrunn to Lobenstein by way of Ebersdorf. Built in 1783 for Count Heinrich XXXV of Reuß, this small classical structure takes the shape of a temple, set on the highest point of the terrain to take advantage of a sweeping view. Today it sits almost like a traffic island on the main road, yet it still commands a view stretching to the Fichtelgebirge, the Frankenwald, the Schneeberg and the Ochsenkopf. Its exterior has been renovated, but the building remains empty inside.
