Schloss Aprath, in Wülfrath, now refers to what remains of the medieval stronghold that once stood near the manor house that no longer exists. That manor, built in 1722 by Johann Abraham Friedrich von Syberg, was later remodelled in the 19th century by the industrialist Carl Rumpff and turned into an excursion venue, before falling into ruin and being torn down in 1986. Only a small round tower and a section of battlemented wall from the earlier fortification survive, renovated and inhabited again today.
What to know
- The 18th century manor house itself is gone, torn down in 1986 after decades of decay.

- The site lies in Wülfrath, Kreis Mettmann, close to the Wuppertal city boundary, near the Aprath mill and the Kaiser-Wilhelm monument.
- No opening hours, admission fees or visitor facilities are documented, as the remaining building is privately occupied.
