To make a day of it

Schaezlerpalais stands in Augsburg (Augsburg), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The Schaezlerpalais is a rococo town palace in Augsburg, built from 1765 for the banker Benedikt Adam von Liebert to designs by the Munich court architect Karl Albert von Lespilliez. Behind its comparatively narrow facade on Maximilianstrasse, the building stretches back over a hundred metres along the Katharinengasse, with courtyards and a garden. Its two-storey ballroom, with carved wood panelling, stucco work and a painted ceiling, is considered one of the finest rococo interiors in Germany. The palace now houses painting collections ranging from late Gothic Swabian works to Italian and Flemish baroque art.
