The Jagdschloss Friedrichsmoor stands in the middle of the Lewitz region, once a sparsely populated hunting ground favoured by the dukes of Mecklenburg. The present half-timbered building dates from 1791 to 1793 and replaced an earlier timber hunting lodge from the early eighteenth century, of which nothing remains. Inside, visitors can see an early nineteenth century French scenic wallpaper depicting a stag hunt, restored and rehung in the garden hall in the early 2000s. Old oaks and a stretch of deciduous forest surround the building today, with the Breite Graben stream running past it to the north.
