Haus Borghausen is a former moated castle of the motte type, now a working farm estate, located northeast of the Berwicke district in the municipality of Welver. The site preserves an artificial mound measuring 23 by 40 metres, surrounded by water-filled moats 3 to 12 metres wide, remnants of a medieval fortification first recorded in the 13th century. Two further moat arms branch off from the northern end, one ending after 50 metres, the other running around the present farmstead for about 390 metres. The current farm buildings likely stand on the site of the former outer bailey.
