The Burgwall Drense is the earthwork remnant of a Slavic lowland fortification on the southern edge of the present village of Drense in Brandenburg. Its horseshoe-shaped outline, enclosing roughly 2.3 hectares, is still visible on the ground. Excavations carried out between 1980 and 1984 revealed a long sequence of occupation, from an unfortified Slavic village of the 6th century to a major stronghold of the Ukrani that was abandoned in the 13th century.
