The Burgstall Rauenlechsberg marks the remains of a vanished stronghold, built on a spur rising 690 metres above the confluence of the Rottbach and the Lech, near Apfeldorf. Founded in the 12th century by the lords of Haltenberg, it later came under Wittelsbach control and served as a Bavarian administrative seat before being destroyed during the Thirty Years' War.
