To make a day of it

Burgstall Fronhofen stands in Bissingen (Landkreis Dillingen an der Donau), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

The Burgstall Fronhofen marks the remains of a medieval motte perched on the Michelsberg above the hamlet of Fronhofen. Of the stronghold founded around 1100 by a noble family who took its name from the site, only ditches, earthworks and a fan of ramparts on the southern slope survive. Saint Michael's Church, built in the 14th or 15th century on the former outer bailey, now stands on the grounds. The site is of interest mainly for reading the shaped terrain rather than for any standing masonry, which has disappeared.
