To make a day of it

Burgstall Forndorf stands in Wieseth (Landkreis Ansbach), in Bavaria, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

Burgstall Forndorf marks the site of a former medieval stronghold and later a Schloss, both now vanished, near the road junction of the hamlet of Forndorf, part of the municipality of Wieseth in the Landkreis Ansbach, Bavaria. First recorded in 1352 under the ownership of the Reichsküchenmeister von Nordenberg, it changed hands among several noble families before burning down in 1565 and being rebuilt as a Schloss in 1590 under Margrave Georg Friedrich. Dismantled in the early 19th century and sold into private ownership, the grounds were built over by farmsteads, leaving only traces of ditches and earthworks visible to the northwest of the site today.
