Burg Obernheim was a hilltop stronghold on the Burgbühl, a mound rising to nearly 970 meters northwest of Obernheim. Built in the mid-13th century by the knights of Obernheim, minor nobility recorded between 1251 and 1391, it covered a site roughly eighty by one hundred thirty meters. No trace of the structure remains, and only the shape of the mound, standing above the Großer Heuberg plateau, marks its former location.
