Burg Neuhaus is a ruined spur castle overlooking the Tauber valley near Igersheim. Likely built in the 13th century by the lords of Hohenlohe-Brauneck, it later came under the authority of the Bishopric of Würzburg and became an administrative seat of the Teutonic Order. Gradually dismantled from the late 18th century onward, only fragments remain today, set within a nature reserve. The castle also carries a darker history as a former prison and place of torture.
