Burg Homboll is a ruined hilltop castle on a wooded rise above the Hofgut Homboll, near Hilzingen. First recorded in 1423 but probably built around 1400, it belonged successively to the von Stoffeln and von Hornstein families before falling into ruin, perhaps as early as 1561 or during the Thirty Years' War. Visitors can still make out the remains of a keep's foundation along with traces of ramparts and ditches around the summit.

  • This is an open-air ruin with no roofed structure or known visitor facilities.
  • The remaining traces consist of foundations, wall fragments and ditch remnants, with trees and undergrowth now covering much of the hilltop.
  • No opening hours, fees or access conditions are documented for this site, so it is worth checking locally before visiting.
