Built in the 14th century by the lords of Haimenhofen, it was extended with a Renaissance residential wing and later restored in the early 20th century after decades of decay. The complex combines a four-storey hall building, likely developed from an earlier residential tower, with hip-roofed ranges flanked by corner turrets. A rock-cut ditch, once crossed by a drawbridge, still separates the site from the land to the west.
