To make a day of it
Burg Dagestein stands in Vilseck (Landkreis Amberg-Sulzbach), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Burg Dagestein rises in the center of Vilseck, in Bavaria, on the remains of a medieval stronghold first documented in the late 12th century. Its five-story Romanesque keep, built around 1200 from rusticated sandstone blocks, still overlooks the town despite past sieges, fires, and later conversions. Inside, a ribbed-vaulted chamber, several blocked openings, and traces of a former chapel dedicated to Saint George can still be seen. Now owned by the city, the site is used today for events, weddings, and community gatherings rather than as a formal museum.
