To make a day of it

Burg Endenich stands in Bonn (Bonn), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Burg Endenich stands in the Endenich district of Bonn, where only the former outer bailey of the medieval complex remains visible today. Two resident knights were already recorded there around 1200, and the property passed through several noble families before the city of Bonn acquired it in 1962. The manor house now contains a branch library and a hall used by local associations, and a chestnut tree over a century old grows in the inner courtyard.

  • The site today houses public functions, including a branch library, a hall for local associations, and premises used by a volunteer fire brigade.
  • A remarkable chestnut tree, over 130 years old, stands in the inner courtyard as part of a protected group of trees.
  • The building is accessible mainly through its community and municipal uses rather than as a conventional tourist site.
