Burg Bruchmühlen stands in Bruchmühlen (Landkreis Osnabrück), in Lower Saxony, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Burg Bruchmühlen, also known as Gut Bruchmühlen, marks the site of a former moated castle on the Else river, in a marshy area that gave its name to the village of Bruchmühlen, now part of the town of Melle. First recorded in 1322 as a fief of the counts of Ravensberg, it was destroyed in the 15th century and later rebuilt, passing through the hands of families such as the Ledebur and later the Holdinghausen. Nothing of the original stronghold survives above ground: what visitors find today is a later manor building and a gatehouse rebuilt in 1990, the Torbogenhaus, now used as a village community hall. A few sandstone blocks bearing coats of arms, set into the walls, are the only remaining traces of the medieval castle.
