Burg Blomberg overlooks the town of Blomberg in the Kreis Lippe. Founded in the 13th century by the lords zur Lippe together with the counts of Schwalenberg and Sternberg, it first served as a fortress before becoming a residence under Simon I. Largely destroyed during the Soest feud, it was rebuilt as a three-wing complex on two storeys and later remodelled from 1560 onward in the Weser Renaissance style. A notable feature is the oriel of white sandstone facing the inner courtyard, the work of master builder Hermann Wulff of Lemgo.
