To make a day of it

Burg Bindstein stands in Herbrechtingen (Landkreis Heidenheim), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

Burg Bindstein refers to the sparse remains of a small medieval stronghold perched on a rocky spur in the Eselsburg valley, opposite the farm and mill that still carry its name, near Herbrechtingen. Built probably in the 12th century by the lords of Bindstein, it likely consisted of nothing more than a residential tower atop this steep rock, now known as the Fischerfelsen. Only scant wall fragments survive today, set in an otherwise wild landscape.
