Set on a rocky spur above the Rhône valley, the Mornas stronghold has watched over the old route between Orange and Bollène since the Middle Ages. Visitors explore at their own pace, using notes handed out on arrival to make sense of the barbican, the enclosing walls, the watchtower and the crypt.
