Château Galimard stands in Burzet (Ardèche), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: Middle Ages, 17th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

What the French Ministry of Culture records

Construite à l’écart du bourg de Burzet, le « château Galimard » se présente comme un logis doublé d’une exploitation agricole. Sa construction remonte probablement au XIVe siècle, mais l’édifice a fait l’objet de plusieurs campagnes de travaux, notamment au XVIIe siècle, par la volonté de son propriétaire d’alors, Claude Chalabreysse de Galimard. Le plan général forme un rectangle à l’intérieur duquel les constructions entourent une petite cour à ciel ouvert. Dans cette cour se trouve une source, aménagée au XVIIe siècle à la façon d’une grotte décorative. La façade principale est surmontée d’une tour qui abrite l’escalier central ; le dôme de bois qui couvre cet escalier est décoré de petits caissons peints. Certains pièces ont été modifiées au XIXe ou XXe siècle, mais nombre d’éléments anciens subsistent : cheminée monumentale dans la cuisine, plafonds à la française, calades, menuiseries, latrines. La chapelle, quoique en mauvais état, conserve une grande partie de ses décors muraux peints. L’édifice est un exemple remarquablement conservé d’une maison forte résidentielle de la petite noblesse du Vivarais, mêlant architecture vernaculaire et résidence de plaisance.
