What the French Ministry of Culture records
La construction de l'édifice remonte probablement au 15e siècle, se présentant alors comme un château-cour orthogonal, régulièrement flanqué. Actuellement, l'édifice présente un plan en U. Ne subsistent que les côtés ouest et sud du quadrilatère et une partie de la courtine nord. Les bâtiments fermant la cour à l'est et au nord ont été détruits au cours des travaux du 19e siècle (transformation des façades sur cour). L'ouvrage d'entrée est cantonné d'échauguettes aux angles, avec mâchicoulis couvert formant chemin de ronde, et parapet orné d'arcs trilobés. Cet ensemble est caractéristique des châteaux forts de la fin du Moyen-Age dans cette région.
