To make a day of it

Château du Génitoy stands in Bussy-Saint-Georges (Seine-et-Marne), in the Île-de-France region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 17th century, 18th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The Château du Génitoy stands in Bussy-Saint-Georges, in Seine-et-Marne, on the remains of a 17th-century pleasure residence surrounded by water-filled moats. Its history is best remembered for the discreet stay of Madame de Montespan, mistress of Louis XIV, kept away from the court at Versailles. Now abandoned, the site still shows a main building flanked by two pavilions, U-shaped stables and an outbuilding topped with a round pigeon tower.
