In Blesle, Haute-Loire, the Château du Bos combines a 17th century residence, later extended in the following century, with the ruins of a medieval tower standing in a neighbouring meadow. Owned by the Blanc du Bos family, the estate has retained its rural character and original fittings: fireplaces, wood panelling and painted overdoors can be seen in the reception rooms as well as the bedrooms. An inner courtyard, flanked by a free-standing chapel and outbuildings, completes this largely unaltered example of domestic architecture.
