The Château des Perrais stands in Parigné-le-Pôlin, in the Sarthe department, on an estate occupied since the 15th century. The current building combines a sober early 17th-century wing, built against an older tower, with an 18th-century main block and 19th-century additions by the architect Sanson. Visitors can still see the oratory tower dated 1633, gabled dormer windows, and a park laid out by Achille Duchêne. The site has gone through several uses over time, a wartime hospital, a purchase attempt by an exiled king, a Catholic boarding school, before becoming a private home again.
