Château de Craon stands in Craon (Mayenne), in the Pays de la Loire region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 17th century, second half of the 18th century, first half of the 19th century). Adult admission costs 10 EUR. Its opening hours and prices were verified at the source on September 9, 2026.
Built at the end of the 18th century for the Marquis d'Armaillé, Craon castle combines a neoclassical tuffeau-stone façade with interiors largely reworked during the Belle Époque. Visitors can see an entrance hall and grand staircase designed by Jules Visseaux, four 18th-century drawing rooms furnished in Louis XVI style, and a 47-hectare park crossed by the Oudon river. The estate also retains notable outbuildings: an orangery, an ice house, a former stud farm and a chapel.
