To make a day of it

Château des Bordes stands in La Celle-les-Bordes (Yvelines), in the Île-de-France region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Built around 1610 for Claude de Harville in the Chevreuse valley, this Louis XIII style château has belonged since 2004 to a private owner who reassembled its collections and personally guides visitors through it. Inside are French and Italian Renaissance and 17th century furniture, tapestries, Flemish paintings and a large collection of stag antlers displayed in the great hall. The house passed through several families, from the Harvilles to the Cossé-Brissac, including the Duchess of Uzès, before its current acquisition.
