In Pont-l'Abbé, the Barons du Pont castle stands on the site of a former feudal mound once held by monks from Loctudy abbey, before becoming the fortified residence of the family that gave the town its name in the 14th century. The medieval keep, flanked by a stair turret, now houses the Bigouden museum devoted to traditional costumes and headdresses, while medieval cellars remain in the basement. The wedding hall within the same building displays paintings by Mathurin Méheut and other local artists.
