Construit au 14e siècle par Hervé, baron Du Pont, ce château, ou manoir fortifié, comprenait un grand corps de logis rectangulaire, flanqué d'une grosse tour à chaque extrémité. L'une de ces tours est accostée d'une tourelle renfermant un escalier à noyau en pierre. L'autre tour a été rasée. Les fenêtres ont perdu leurs meneaux et traverses. Les lucarnes ont été refaites au 17e siècle, suite à l'incendie du château en 1675 lors d'une révolte paysanne.
