To make a day of it
Château des Aygues stands in Étretat (Seine-Maritime), in the Normandie region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: third quarter of the 19th century). Adult admission costs 10 EUR. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
In Étretat, the Château des Aygues shows three distinct façades, one neo-gothic, one Italianate, one neo-Louis XIII, held together by a strict symmetry. Built in 1866 for the man behind the Eau de mélisse des Carmes tonic, the house once hosted two Spanish queens as guests. Behind it, the grounds hold a rockery-style landscape, a belvedere facing the sea, and the springs that gave the estate its name.
