What the French Ministry of Culture records

Château élevé de 1903 à 1906 par l'architecte René Sergent pour un riche banquier parisien, le comte Edmond de Fels, prince de Heffingen. En 1892, le commanditaire avait acquis le domaine de Voisins où subsistaient des vestiges de l'ancien château du marquis de Croismare, modifié par l'architecte Ange-Jacques Gabriel en 1779. Le nouveau château s'inspire des oeuvres de cet architecte auquel le comte de Fels vouait un culte particulier. Derrière ses allures de pastiche du 18e siècle, le château, qui ne comporte pas moins de 47 pièces, est un édifice doté de tous le confort moderne : chauffage central, monte-charge, etc. Les jardins sont aménagés de 1906 à 1929 par l'architecte-paysagiste Achille Duchêne.
