Château de Vaujours stands in Château-la-Vallière (Indre-et-Loire), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 12th century, 13th century, 15th century). The ruins of the Château de Vaujours stand on a former lakeside site a few kilometres from Château-la-Vallière, in Indre-et-Loire. Built around the mid 13th century where a pond once fed its moats, this Angevin stronghold was never captured during the Hundred Years' War and was later strengthened in the 15th century by Jean V de Bueil. Visitors can still make out the keep, the remains of the chapel and several towers of the enclosure, now surrounded by lawns where the moats used to lie.
