The Château de Varennes-l'Enfant stands near the village of Épineux-le-Seguin in the Mayenne department, on a site occupied since the 13th century. The present building, erected from the 1850s onward on earlier foundations, follows a style inspired by ancient military architecture and belongs to the d'Albaret family. Its turbulent history, marked by feudal homage, sieges and periods of abandonment, is still traceable through earlier remains preserved on the estate. Inside, a carved wooden fireplace and exposed beamed ceilings remain notable features.
