The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: first half of the 19th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Standing at the edge of the village of Varennes in Charette-Varennes, this château has belonged to the same family, the Truchis, for nearly three centuries. The present building replaced a medieval stronghold once surrounded by a rare triple moat, of which nothing now remains visible. Its most distinctive feature is a neo-Romanesque chapel from the early 20th century, inspired by Cluniac architecture, standing close to the east front. The estate, still lived in by its owners, is not open to visitors.
