La transformation du château date du milieu du 18e siècle, menée par Anne Jean-Baptiste Eugène Jobard du Mesnil, baron d'Empire, qui fait également construire une chapelle en style néo-égyptien et un kiosque disparu. L'ensemble est complété par un pigeonnier du 18e siècle, près de la chapelle et, face au château, par un parc où se trouve une tour ayant sans doute servi d'observatoire. Acquis par la municipalité en 1905, le château a été restauré et aménagé en 1906, ainsi que dans les années 1960, en bureau de poste, perception et salle de danse.
