Ce manoir se compose d'un corps de logis en équerre, orné d'une tour ronde. Ce corps de logis comprend, au rez-de-chaussée, un passage voûté sous lequel passe le chemin. Des fenêtres à meneaux s'ouvrent dans la façade principale à pignon triangulaire. La tour ronde est couverte en lauze. C'est une maison de famille dans laquelle vécut au début du 17e siècle le chanoine Jean Tarde qui dessina les cartes de Sarlat et du diocèse de Sarlat. Y demeura aussi le philosophe Gabriel Tarde, célèbre pour ses travaux de sociologie.
