What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château de Sumberraute était propriété de la famille d'Esquille quand il fut reconstruit vers 1656 après un incendie. Il se présente sous la forme d'un corps de logis allongé cantonné au nord et au sud de deux pavillons et forme avec les bâtiments du 19e siècle des communs une cour fermée rectangulaire. L'intérieur du logis a conservé d'importants éléments du 17e siècle, notamment une porte en pierre au premier étage et cinq cheminées en pierre aux manteaux et aux hottes droites richement décorées.
